CRIME NEWS

  • Waterloo resident Daijon Stokes, 32, pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced to 104 months in federal prison after he fled a December 3 traffic stop by driving nearly 90 mph in a residential area and colliding with a car carrying a woman and two children — officers later found a loaded handgun and drugs in his car.  KWWL

  • Strong storms late Sunday night caused widespread power outages and damage across several counties and left more than 30,000 people without power at 5:30 a.m. on Monday + reports by 8:40 a.m. indicated outbreaks had dropped to 9,622.  KWWL
