  • Girl Scout Troop 1252 earned the Bronze Award by helping foster children in Bremer County. The troop cleaned a playroom at the Department of Health and Human Services—spending over 280 hours gathering toys and buying essentials while donating 31 care bags funded by cookie and fall sales.  KWWL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Northern Iowa will offer in-state tuition to new undergraduate students from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota + Wisconsin starting this fall, with rates set at $10,201 for the 2025-26 year to save families over $12,000 compared to nonresident fees. UNI’s Neighboring State Rate aims to attract talented students and meet regional job market needs.  KWWL
