- ➤ City officials are demolishing Waterloo's former Parkview Gardens Care Center after neighbors complained it attracted vagrants + vandals. The city acquired the building in May and is moving forward with the demolition. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Iowa DOT reported 248 crash fatalities as of Nov. 25, which puts the state on track for fewer than 300 deaths for the first time since 1925—DOT officials credit advances in vehicle safety, improved road design and driver education despite nearly half of the victims not wearing seatbelts. - ➤ A driver crashed into the building housing Ivy Trellis Gift Shop on September 10th and damaged a beloved downtown mural—officials restored the artwork in time for holiday activities this weekend. KWWL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Architectural renderings show plans for changes at Hawkeye Community College's Automation and Robotics Center on the TechWorks campus in downtown Waterloo.
