- ➤ Veridian Credit Union has pledged $100,000 to fight food insecurity in Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. The credit union will feed an estimated 1,300 people at its 44th annual Mike & Leona Adams Thanksgiving Dinner in Waterloo later this month. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
- ➤ Waterloo smash burger restaurant Big Head Burger is collecting donations for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank with its Burgers That Give Back initiative, offering a $2 off coupon when customers donate needed items like high-protein foods and personal care products+ Donations can be dropped off in the dining room through December 31 and the coupon is valid until January 31. - ➤ Waterloo Center for the Arts will host its annual holiday arts festival November 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Midwest artists will offer original artwork and handmade gift items for purchase. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

- ➤ Downtown's most iconic building will be turned into a national hotel with 130 rooms, 20 to 25 apartments and 2 to 4 commercial spaces — part of a $57 million investment from JSA that plans to boost local real estate.
