  • Grout Museum is hosting story time for toddlers at its planetarium dome (a children's book will be read aloud) to engage young listeners in early literacy.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Nestlé announced it will cut approximately 16,000 jobs globally over the next two years—most cuts will affect white-collar positions while 4,000 roles in manufacturing and supply chain are also heading for reduction and it remains unclear if local jobs at the Waverly plant will be impacted.  KWWL

CULTURE NEWS

  • An international food tasting event will be held on November 2 and attendees will try dishes from India, Bosnia, Pakistan, Mexico, Poland and Romania + the event aims to bring global flavors to the local community.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • MercyOne, in partnership with Black Hawk County Public Health’s Care for Yourself program, is offering Free Mammo Nights today in Cedar Falls from 2 to 7 p.m. for women 40 and older facing cost barriers; a final session will be held on November 6 at the Waterloo Breast Center (appointments required at 319-292-2225).  KWWL

SPORTS NEWS

  • AJ Green, a Cedar Falls native and former UNI guard, signed a four-year, $45 million extension with the Milwaukee Bucks as confirmed Thursday by ProMondo Sports + ESPN. He will remain with the team through the 2029-30 season and begin the next season on Oct. 22 against the Wizards.  KWWL
