- ➤ Firefighters responded to a blaze at a vacant warehouse on Sycamore Street late on Sunday night August 31—crews spent nearly 90 minutes at the scene with no injuries while investigators work to determine the cause. KWWL

- ➤ Former Iowa State Representative Bob Krause ended his campaign for the U.S. House and announced he will run for U.S. Senate—he endorsed Christina Bohannon and said he will fight for democracy through the Constitution.
