CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Waterloo man Javoni Marcelius Butler (G Man) (44) was sentenced to 37 years in federal prison for smuggling fentanyl into Waterloo after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, international money laundering, and possession with intent to distribute; he traveled to Mexico from January 2022 to December 2023 to acquire over 10,000 fentanyl pills and a large amount of powder, and nearly $60,000 was found in his vehicle during his arrest. - ➤ Officers responded on August 13 in Waterloo after a vandalism report left a window at the back of the Center for the Arts broken—authorities now ask for video footage and charges are pending. KWWL
