- ➤ Waterloo police and Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers are asking for help to identify a man caught on home security video walking through yards & looking into vehicles near Liberty Park. KWWL

- ➤ Reconstruction on Veralta Drive from Valley High Drive to Primrose Drive will begin Monday, Aug. 18 — state officials say the project will improve road conditions and traffic flow. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
- ➤ Three new officers (Nathan Elliott, Taylor McNamara, and Sead Sabanagic) were sworn in by Mayor Quentin Hart at a Monday night ceremony in Waterloo, and they will begin several months of training followed by one year of probation before gaining full certification. Waterloo police say more recruits will be sought as retirements are expected soon. KWWL
