KWWL renamed its newsroom—naming it the Ron Steele Newsroom—in honor of former anchor Ron Steele who worked at the station for 51 years.
Staff and family attended a surprise ceremony Tuesday to unveil a special plaque marking this dedication.

The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Team Academic Award for the 14th consecutive year—recognizing its ranking in the top 20% for GPA among NCAA Division I teams.
The Panthers finished last academic year with a 3.77 GPA and will begin the 2025 season on August 29 versus Arizona State.
