- ➤ The North End Arts and Music Festival — a local event with music and art — is set for Saturday in Waterloo. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
- ➤ Hawkeye Community College announced its 2025-2026 Artist Series, which will begin on August 21 with Sail On: A Beach Boys Tribute, continue on October 23 with sisters Cassie and Maggie, feature local singer Felicia and her band HartSmith on February 12, and close on June 5 with Ashes & Arrows—each act offering its own style. Season tickets cost $70 and include all shows plus two student productions, while individual tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for those 18 and under—tickets can be purchased online until August 20. - ➤ Waterloo ended its fiscal year with a record $304 million in construction permits—higher than the previous $181 million set in 2007. The permits cover new industrial facilities at the Air and Rail Park, retail projects near Crossroads Mall, progress on a new high school, and 175 housing units under construction.
