- ➤ Waterloo’s Mayor’s Red, White and Loo Fireworks Show — now set for 9:30 p.m. Friday — will light up downtown, replacing the originally scheduled time. Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Winnebago Industries announced it will close its facilities in Waverly and Charles City; the Waverly site will shut down on September 8 affecting 77 employees—18 workers in Charles City will lose their jobs on the same day and another 26 will be laid off when that facility closes on December 12. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Waterloo Police are searching for 41 year old Neven Soknic, who was reported missing on July 9 after he was last contacted by phone on July 7 at 3:30 p.m. (he was seen wearing a blue shirt and grey shorts and may have been in the Clayton County area, so anyone with information is urged to call 319-291-2515).
