- ➤ The Friends of the Grout Historic Houses Garden Tours and Plant Sale will feature seven local gardens Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.—Gaylord Stauffer’s enchanted outdoor space and John Brackin’s backyard oasis are among the highlights. - ➤ Allison Rank was named founding director of UNI's new Center for Civic Education that launched with a $1 million state appropriation. She will start her role on June 30 — overseeing center activities, securing grants and building stakeholder relationships as a political science professor. KWWL

- ➤ MET Transit is launching new transit routes today through August to connect Gates Park and Byrnes Park Aquatic Center. Revised Routes 1B, 3, and 4 will run with fixed times — including hourly service from 10:11 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. and a Youth Summer Fare of $0.25 per trip for riders 6 to 18. KWWL
