- ➤ The Waterloo Center for the Arts is hosting Chroma 63, a free metal and punk music festival set for Saturday from noon to 9:30 p.m. at RiverLoop Amphitheatre. - ➤ Waterloo topped Iowa’s largest cities in water and sewer affordability based on the 2024 Water and Sewer Rate Survey with a residential rate of $49.36 for six CCF and the lowest commercial rate for 1,000 CCF — city officials credit efficient utility management and infrastructure upgrades for keeping rates low. - ➤ Allen College is set to expand its Simulation Lab in McElroy Hall with a $500,000 donation from Jim and Judy Fogdall—this $3 million project will add over 8,000 square feet including new classrooms, a nurses’ station, home health space, and debriefing rooms, with groundbreaking planned for fall and completion expected by 2027.
