ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Emergency vehicles blocked US218 and the northbound ramp near the Hawkeye Community College Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center in Waterloo during Monday’s evening commute—reporters saw a Waterloo Police vehicle on scene and no injuries were reported. KWWL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Truck drivers have raised safety concerns as ongoing construction on I-380 makes work zones risky because many vehicles do not slow down. Iowa DOT officials said they will use rumble strips — a method to alert drivers — and maintain lower speed limits to protect road crews and motorists. KCRG
- ➤ Waterloo city council voted against extending fireworks use to July 5th so residents can set off fireworks only on July 3rd and 4th as required by a new Iowa law. Cedar Falls also changed its policy by adding July 3rd to its Fourth of July resolution. KWWL
