Good morning, Waterloo.

Tour de Loo, an annual event, showcased downtown Waterloo's revitalization and renovations Thursday — highlighting efforts to transform vacant spaces into vibrant community areas.

Hope City Church's plan to move into a closed bank building on West Fifth Street was denied by the planning and zoning commission early this week because the space did not match the city’s master plan for residential development; church leaders said the decision now moves to the Board of Adjustment.

Waterloo City Council will approve a non-binding letter of intent with McDonald's USA for the potential sale of four city-owned parcels on Commercial Street across from Young Arena.

McDonald's will have 180 days for due diligence to complete property surveys and inspections.

Redeemer Preschool hosted a Trike-a-Thon where children rode tricycles, bikes, and scooters along a designated route to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.

The event drew community families and will support ongoing health research.
