  • Lost Island Themepark will hold open interviews on Thursday (May 8) as it seeks to hire staff for various roles. Local job seekers can attend the interviews at the park to apply for the available positions.  KWWL
  • International Paper held a groundbreaking on Thursday on Leversee Road in Cedar Valley for its largest box plant in company history. The $260 million project will add about 65 new jobs in Waterloo & up to 90 statewide, cover 900,000 square feet, and production is expected to begin by winter.  KWWL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Iowa schools and licensed child care centers will soon be required to post vaccine exemption information on their websites and in enrollment forms under House File 299. The bill passed in the Senate by a vote of 32 to 16 and in the House by 58 to 30 and now awaits Gov. Kim Reynolds' signature—its aim is to ensure parents receive clear guidance on exemption procedures.  Globe Gazette
