  • St. Paul's UMC will host a beef and noodle dinner Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at 207 W. Louise St. The event costs $12 for adults and $6 for children 10 and younger.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
  • Goodwill stores in Cedar Valley are struggling to keep shelves stocked as donations drop, affecting job training and community programs. Local officials encourage residents to donate at any Cedar Valley location.  KWWL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lost Island Themepark was voted among USA Today’s top 10 parks for 2026 after its Fire Runner coaster was named Best New Theme Park Attraction in January. The park continues to attract visitors with its award-winning ride.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
  • Sturgis Falls Celebration has announced its main stage music lineup for this year's festival. The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Electric Avenue will perform on June 26 while The Pork Tornadoes and Not Quite Brothers will perform on June 27 at the festival.  KWWL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Waterloo Community School District Board approved a three-year contract that gives teachers a $250 base wage increase starting this school year and a $1,000 boost for 2027-28 while opening wage negotiations for 2028-29; the Education Association celebrated the move as its first win in a decade.  KCRG
  • Waterloo FFA will host its Spring Plant Sale at the Waterloo Career Center with student-grown annuals, vegetables, and hanging baskets available for purchase on Thursday and Friday (4 to 8 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m. to noon).  KWWL
