Good morning, Waterloo.

Waterloo city leaders planted a tree at Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens on Saturday to honor Mayor Dave Boesen and mark the city’s 42nd year with the Tree City USA Award.

The event also celebrated the arboretum’s 30th anniversary and summer opening.

Waterloo United's school board will review plans to merge some East and West high school teams under the (Titans) name next year, setting initial decisions on the new athletic identity at an upcoming meeting.

Fareway (a local chain) has presented a cooking segment detailing a spring salad recipe that balances greens, protein, fat, and crunch for a filling meal option.

The segment explains how to use spinach or spring mix with rotisserie chicken and a simple olive oil dressing mix.
