- ➤ KWWL and the R.J. McElroy Trust Foundation announced that ten Black Hawk County teachers earned the Gold Star Award for outstanding teaching—each teacher will receive a $1,000 honorarium and an extra $1,000 to improve their classroom. A ceremony will be held on May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at UNI and is free to attend. KWWL
