- ➤ The Iowa Legislature set SSA funding for the next school year at 2% and sent the bill to Governor Kim Reynolds for signage, raising per-pupil funding by about $160 and marking a third decrease from 3% in 2023 and 2.5% in 2024. Waterloo Community School District maintained its budget plan since its preparations assumed a 2% rate, though cuts announced this spring reflect concerns that persist as state funds continue to drop—especially affecting future budget decisions.
