CRIME NEWS

  • Waterloo police arrested 18-year-old Jessie Javon Small after reports of three or four people brandishing weapons in the Walmart parking lot on Flammang Drive a little after 2:15 p.m. Saturday—officers said he fled into the store before being caught and now faces several charges while no shots were fired and no one was injured.  KWWL

  • Today, the USS Iowa was officially commissioned into the Navy after nearly six years of construction. A ceremony in Groton, Conn. featured Governor Kim Reynolds and Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks+local watch parties were held at the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum in Waterloo.  KWWL
