The Iowa Eats Festival returns to Waterloo this weekend at the Waterloo Convention Center.

Waterloo’s Youth Art Team received a $67,000 cultural sustainability grant from the Wallace Foundation + the grant supports a program to boost local arts.

The team will use the funds to continue producing community art projects + it aims to strengthen its impact around Waterloo.

Lawmakers held hearings last week on property tax reform proposals—Senate Study Bill 1208 and House Study Bill 313—that aim to cut Iowa taxes by an estimated $426 million over five years while simplifying the rollback system.

Rep. Bobby Kaufmann said the bill will move to committee in two weeks as officials continue to gather feedback, and local groups warned a 2% cap on levy growth could reduce funds for essential services.
