Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 14th of March.
Good morning, Waterloo.
High school students from Black Hawk County have awarded $19,000 in grants to seven nonprofits through the Teen Trust program at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa—supporting projects such as youth transportation and construction opportunities—while applications for the next season remain open until May 15.
Earlier today, gusty winds exceeding 40 mph toppled trees and left over 5,000 customers without power across Eastern Iowa; in Waterloo, a large tree fell on power lines, temporarily closing Kimball Avenue and delaying school classes.
