  • Iowa Irish Fest will celebrate its 20th anniversary with Celtic bands, including headliner Scythian on Friday and Gaelic Storm on Saturday and Sunday; the three-day festival will run from July 31 to August 2 in downtown Waterloo.  KWWL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Zach O’Brien has been named the first head principal of Waterloo United High School, effective July 1 pending board approval. He will lead the new school as it prepares to open for the 2028-29 school year while shaping its culture.  KWWL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Waterloo snow removal crews have been working all day to clear roads and keep drivers safe. Officials asked drivers to slow down and give plows extra room as crews focus on main routes before moving on to residential streets, and efforts will continue tonight.  KWWL
