  • Farm groups including the Farm Bureau and soybean and specialty crop organizations have written to congressional leaders asking for extra funds to help cover losses from low prices + high costs. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hawkeye Community College announced its December 2025 graduates. The college recognized the students’ achievements during the winter term (per the official release).  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cedar Falls High School held its first Coaches Versus Cancer event with basketball games and raffles to support cancer patients; UNI will host a similar fundraiser this weekend for the Accessing Cancer Treatment Fund, with donations via online ticket sales & three-pointer contributions from coach Warren.  KWWL

  • Randee is a 10-pound, playful tabby cat that arrived as a stray when he was about four months old & is now available for adoption at the Cedar Bend Humane Society. He is affectionate though not house trained and is seeking a forever home.  KWWL

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • City leaders are nearing final approval to convert the former St. John's Catholic School on Mulberry Street into 19 housing units with a daycare and a community space. The $2.2M project will take about a year to complete as the council votes tonight.  KWWL
