EDUCATION NEWS

  • The North Iowa STEM festival offered more than 20 booths with interactive activities for kindergarten and older children at MCHS Field House. The event featured an indoor planetarium from the Area Education Agency and showcased drones, robotics and crafts.  Globe Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • La Porte Road reopened to traffic south of San Marnan Drive today, the City of Waterloo said. Bopp Street intersection remains closed for Phase 1 with work to finish in spring – Phase 2 will begin at the Ridgeway Avenue intersection in May or June.  KWWL

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Waterloo surgeon completed Iowa's first implantable shock absorber for the knee, a device designed to reduce weight on the joint + ease pain, preserve function, and potentially delay replacement surgery.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Developers shared preliminary design concepts for the transformation of Crossroads Mall into an outdoor shopping and entertainment center (including restaurants, retail spaces, and community gathering areas) during a webinar.
